Welcome to 5th Grade
Mrs. Michalski :)
Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away! You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go.
This website i

You can help your child to have a very successful year by:
- Making sure your student is well rested and nourished when he or she arrives at school.
- Make sure your child comes to school with the necessary supplies.
- Talking about school in a positive manner. Be interested in what your child is doing.
- Letting me know if there are any special concerns or needs regarding your child.
- Helping your child set up a successful homework routine that works with your schedule. Make sure he/she has a designated time and place, the necessary supplies and adult assistance if needed.
SNACKS
A healthy and simple snack may be sent to school with your child. Items for snacks could include; fruit, crackers, vegetables, granola bars, yogurt, or cheese. Do not send cookies, chips, candy, or fruit bite snacks as they are of little nutritional value and have a lot of sugar.
Materials
You are expected to be prepared to learn each day. You need to bring to school each day the things you know you need like your homework, reading book, and pencils and notebooks. You may leave in your desk the things we use in class. It might be useful for you to have a special spot at home to do your homework. Equip that spot with the materials you need each day.
Discipline Policy
You are expected to follow all the school rules as described in the student handbook. Poor choices on your part will be subject to appropriate consequences. My goal for you is to grow and learn in a healthy, safe, and secure classroom. The motto “Respect yourself, respect others, respect your environment and respect learning” is the guide.
Homework
You are expected to do homework! It will be assigned nightly. The planner, a study buddy and the class website above are resources you are expected to use to accomplish your homework. It will be evaluated based upon your best attempt and the evidence that proves you made your best attempt.
